Who are you and how does that show up in your work?
I am emotional, passionate, empathetic, and full of energy. I use color and movement and shapes express myself. My paintings are less about the actual object I am painting and more about conveying a feeling.
What draws you to making art in the first place?
Painting allows me the opportunity to truly express myself.
I get to experiment and break rules and challenge myself.
How do you usually start a piece?
Sometimes I start with an image in my head of a place I have seen. Other times I see objects that intrigue me. And then sometimes I just start putting paint on the canvas and love it around and around
How do you know when a piece is finished?
I am finished when I have run out of energy to but into a painting and have said everything I wanted to as the time.
